Pete Braman & I ventured to the Grande Ronde
river for some Fall Steelhead fishing October 5 - 7, 2001. The Grande
Ronde is a tributary of the Snake located in the extreme southwest
corner of Washington State. We drove to Clarkston, WA Thursday
afternoon and re-discovered our foosball game at a local watering hole.
We met our guides, supplied by the Evening Hatch of Ellensburg, in the cafe
at Asotin Friday morning before first light .
We first fished the Snake near Asotin while
the sun came up...no luck, but wonderful scenery. We then headed
southeast into the canyons of the Grande Ronde to our put-in spot.
